Fatal hit-and-run in Southeast Portland
“It looks like they were maybe doing more than 70, they were probably doing over 100.
It’s been through here, and there is two people crossing right over there, and they both got hit by the car, but the dude was dragged across the ground and left in the other intersection,” the employee said. The victim’s family obtained that footage and plans on giving it to the police. While the family isn’t releasing the victim’s name at this time, they described him as a funny, lovable guy.
“He would give you the shirt off his back, he was one of those types of people,” Taylor said. “He’s going to be missed and family and friends everybody’s just devastated.”
Streets in the area were closed during the investigation, including SE 162nd from E Burnside Street to SE Alder Street and SE Stark from SE 160th Avenue to SE 164th Avenue. No other details were immediately available.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Portland Police Bureau.
