Packers, NFL Seek Diverse Wisconsin-Based Businesses

dailynewsmissouriimage

The Green Bay Packers and NFL are inviting diverse, Wisconsin-based businesses to apply for contracts related to the 2025 NFL Draft, which will be hosted in Green Bay from April 24-26. Women, minorities, veterans, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals who own businesses in Wisconsin are encouraged to apply for consideration in the NFL Draft Source program. Approved applicants will be included in an online member directory accessible to NFL contractors and business partners seeking local suppliers for draft-related work.

To qualify for the Draft Source program, a business must meet the following criteria:

Be headquartered in Wisconsin. Have been operating since at least April 2022. Be 51% owned and operated by minorities, women, veterans, people with disabilities, or LGBTQ+ individuals.

Be certified by at least one NFL-approved certifying agency. Be in good standing and eligible to do business in Wisconsin. Be the direct source of the goods and services offered.

Packers invite diverse local businesses

Provide products or services requested by the Draft Source program. It is important to note that inclusion in the program is competitive and does not guarantee contracts.

The NFL recognizes certifications from several national and local agencies. These include federal agencies like the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Small Business Administration, as well as national business organizations such as Disability:IN, the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the National Veteran-Owned Business Association, the National Women Business Owners Corporation, and the U.S. Black Chambers Inc. In Wisconsin, certifications are also accepted from the Department of Administration for minority-, woman-, or disabled veteran-owned business enterprises, as well as disadvantaged business enterprise certifications from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Milwaukee County, Dane County, or the city of Madison.

Businesses in the process of obtaining certification can still apply by providing proof of their application. Eligible businesses could compete for a variety of contract work, including audio-visual services, business administration, catering or concessions, contract labor, event production, entertainment, event services, general contracting, information technology, and transportation. Interested businesses can apply through a website set up by the Packers and the NFL.

Applications are being accepted now, and requests for proposals from NFL event production companies will be issued starting this fall.
