The endorsement drew a swift response from former President Donald Trump, who took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to declare, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump’s post came just days after a debate between him and Harris, during which he had falsely suggested that Swift supported his campaign. The Harris campaign capitalized on the moment by releasing a statement titled “Trump’s Bad Week (Taylor’s Version),” filled with references to Swift’s songs. The statement described Trump’s week as one of “rambling, yelling and constant conspiracy theories” and highlighted his controversial appearance at New York’s 9/11 memorial ceremony.

The campaign also engaged with Swift’s fanbase by deploying digital billboards in Times Square and the Las Vegas strip with slogans drawing from her music, such as “A New Way Forward….

Ready for It?” and “We’re In Our Kamala Era.”
Swift’s endorsement appears to have mobilized many of her fans, driving more than 300,000 visitors to the voter registration website Vote.gov.
However, the impact of celebrity endorsements on voters’ decisions remains uncertain, with some studies suggesting they have limited influence. Trump downplayed Swift’s endorsement during an interview with Fox & Friends, stating, “I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time.
She couldn’t possibly endorse Biden. But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Swift, who has more than 280 million Instagram followers, has been vocal about her political views in recent years, advocating for LGBTQIA rights and gender and racial equality.
Her past endorsements have also boosted civic engagement, prompting tens of thousands of people to register to vote.
