Several bulls escaped from a rodeo at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleboro, Massachusetts on Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. when eight bulls broke free from their pens and ran through the mall parking lot. Dramatic video captured by witness Kyle Massey shows the moment the bulls jumped over a chain-link fence gate and galloped across the parking lot.
“I looked over to my right and I’d seen 6, 7 bulls or something like that, and I thought they were just walking around the parking lot with the people from the rodeo,” Massey told WBZ-TV. “Then I noticed they were getting closer, so I told my daughter, ‘I think they’re on the loose.’ So I started recording.”
The bulls then ran across the street, dodging cars, and headed into nearby woods. Police and rodeo workers chased after them.
“It was crazy,” Massey said. One bull was caught shortly after escaping.

Around 4:30 p.m., six others were found stuck behind a fence outside a home about three miles away on Prescott Street in Attleboro. Chris Mooney, an Attleboro resident, saw the bulls walk down his street and through his yard. “As soon as I stepped out and I looked out there I said those aren’t horses, those are literally bulls and oh my god,” he said.
“Two of them were laying down and another was budging the fence trying to get out, and the other ones were just sitting there.”
As of Monday morning, one bull is still believed to be on the loose. The North Attleboro fire department warned community members to “exercise extreme caution and not approach the bull if found.” If spotted, residents should call 911. No one was hurt during the incident.
The one-day rodeo event at the mall is now under investigation by local authorities. “No additional information is available at this time,” a North Attleboro police spokesperson told WBZ in an email.
