In Greene County, absentee ballots may be cast from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Greene County Archives/Election Center at 1126 N. Boonville Ave. Voters must show a valid photo ID when voting an absentee ballot in person.

To request a ballot by mail, voters must send a handwritten letter or fill out a form on the Greene County Clerk’s website. Absentee ballot by mail requests must be received by the clerk’s office no later than 5 p.m. on Oct. 23.

Mailed ballots must be voted, notarized, returned by mail, and received in the clerk’s office before 7 p.m. on Nov. 5. Voters must list one of the following reasons when requesting an absentee ballot:
– Absence on Election Day from the jurisdiction in which the voter is registered.
– Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability on election day, which includes caretakers who are primarily responsible for someone and reside at the same address. – Religious belief or practice. – Employment as an election authority or by an election authority at a location other than your polling place, a first responder, a health care worker, or a member of law enforcement.
Absentee voting starts in Missouri
– Incarceration if all other qualifications for voting are retained. – Certified participation in the address confidentiality program due to safety concerns.
From Oct. 22 to Nov. 4, voters can cast an absentee ballot in person without providing a reason.
Important dates for the Missouri general election include:
– Sept. 24: First day to request a mail-in ballot. – Oct.
9: Last day to register to vote for the November general election; mail-in voter registration packets must be postmarked by this date. – Oct. 22: No excuse absentee voting in person begins.
– Oct. 23: Deadline for mail-in ballot requests, which must be received by 5 p.m.
– Nov. 4: Last day for in-person absentee voting, before 5 p.m.
– Nov.
5: General election day. Mail-in absentee ballots must be received by the clerk’s office by 7 p.m.
