Road Maintenance Scheduled Across Northwest Missouri

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced scheduled road work and maintenance across Northwest Missouri for the week of September 30, 2024. In Andrew County, a resurfacing project is ongoing on Business 71 from Route 71 north of Savannah to Interstate 29 through November 2024. The contractor is Herzog Contracting Corp.

Atchison County will see resurfacing on U.S. Route 59 from Route 46 near Fairfax to Interstate 29, continuing through November 2024. The contractor is also Herzog Contracting Corp. Other work includes bridge inspection on Route E at the Old Channel Nichnabotna River bridge from September 23 to October 1, shoulder repair on Route D, pothole patching on Route 46, and bridge maintenance on Interstate 29 at the Mill Creek Bridge.

Buchanan County has a bridge rehabilitation project over Interstate 29 on Cook Road in St. Joseph, ongoing through October 2024. The contractor is Clarkson Construction Company.

Resurfacing projects are underway on U.S. Route 59 and U.S. Route 45. Scrub seal repairs are scheduled on Route 752 (Mason Road) on September 30. The Shoal Creek Bridge in Caldwell County is closed until further notice due to deck deterioration.

It is scheduled for contractor letting in January 2025. Routes N & A have a resurfacing project from September 30 to October 4, narrowing each roadway to one lane. The contractor is Emery Sapp & Sons.

Carroll County has a bridge rehabilitation project at the Grand River Bridge through October 2024.

Road work updates for northwest Missouri

The contractor is Hardy Construction, LLC.

Another bridge rehabilitation is ongoing on Route CC at the Little Wakenda Creek Bridge. The contractor is Capital-Horner & Shifrin. Chariton County also has work at the Grand River Bridge through October 2024 with Hardy Construction, LLC as the contractor.

Pothole patching is scheduled on various routes from September 30 to October 4. Clinton County will see concrete repair on I-35 from Missouri Route 116 to 1 mile north of Shoal Creek, continuing into December. The contractor is Phillips Hardy, Inc.

In DeKalb County, a culvert replacement is planned on U.S. Route 69 south of Route EE from October 4-6. An intersection improvement project is ongoing at Route EE through November. The contractor for both projects is Leavenworth Excavating & Equipment Company, Inc.

Gentry County has a resurfacing project on U.S. Route 136 from Stanberry to east of U.S. Route 169 and from Route C to Route 13 in Harrison County. It will continue through November 2024. The contractor is Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc.

Culvert replacements are also scheduled on various routes. Other counties with planned work include Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Lafayette, Livingston, Nodaway, Putnam, Saline, and Sullivan. Motorists should stay informed of local traffic updates and plan alternate routes as needed to avoid delays.
