Kentucky Defeats Missouri in Straight Sets

The No. 13 Kentucky Wildcats volleyball team defeated the Missouri Tigers in straight sets on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington. The final score was 25-18, 25-20, 25-21.

Kentucky’s balanced offensive attack was led by sophomore outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye with 12 kills and senior Megan Wilson with 10 kills. The Wildcats hit .303 as a team, committing only 12 errors. Setter Emma Grome orchestrated the efficient offense, dishing out 32 assists on 39 of Kentucky’s kills.

Head coach Craig Skinner praised Grome’s distribution, saying, “Really good job by Emma (Grome) distributing the offense, getting a lot of people involved offensively.”

On the defensive side, Kentucky held Missouri to a hitting percentage of just .103, forcing the Tigers into 21 hitting errors. Molly Tuozzo led the back row with 12 digs, while Wilson and Brooke Bultema each recorded four blocks at the net.

With the win, Kentucky improves to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in SEC play. Missouri falls to 9-5 overall and 1-2 in conference matches. The Wildcats will have a week off before hosting No.
