Chances for rain in the Kansas City metro are relatively slim; otherwise, most areas will be dry, with highs in the upper 80s.

- Sunday through Tuesday: Temperatures increasing to the mid and upper 90s, with heat index levels nearing 105 degrees, creating hazardous conditions

The watch area includes Doniphan County in Kansas, as well as Adair, Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Chariton, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Linn, Livingston, Macon, Mercer, Nodaway, Putnam, Randolph, Schuyler, Sullivan, and Worth counties in Missouri. Isolated strong-to-severe thunderstorms are possible across northern Missouri later on Wednesday.
The primary threats from these storms are damaging winds and large hail. Cities such as Cameron, Chillicothe, Maryville, and St. Joseph are among the areas included in the watch.
